Get Online With Nintendo DS? Options

The Nintendo DS is capable of browsing the Web, downloading games and
applications, and playing games online. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
(Nintendo WFC) is Nintendo's wireless service and is what makes this
all possible. With Nintendo WFC, getting online with a Nintendo DS is
both simple and free.

•Step 1
Insert a Wi-Fi-compatible game into your Nintendo DS (see Resources
for a list of these games).

•Step 2
Access the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" area within the game.
If you cannot locate this option, refer to your game's instruction
manual.

•Step 3
Tap on one of the available connection slots. You will be taken to the
"Settings" screen for that connection slot.

•Step 4
Choose the "Search for an Access Point" option. Your Nintendo DS will
display a list of nearby wireless access points. Each access point on
the list will have a colored padlock icon next to its name. If the
padlock is blue, the access point is not secured. If the padlock is
red, the access point is protected by WEP security and requires a key.
If the padlock is grey, the access point's security settings are not
compatible with your Nintendo DS--and cannot be used to connect to
Nintendo WFC.

•Step 5
Select an access point with a blue or red padlock. If you select an
access point with a blue padlock, your Nintendo DS will attempt to
immediately establish a connection. If you select an access point with
a red padlock, you must first enter the WEP key before your Nintendo
DS establishes a connection.

•Step 6
Exit out to your game's main menu. Your Nintendo DS is now online and
ready to take advantage of Nintendo WFC.
