Step 1

M3 exampleIn order to have multiple backup games and multimedia on your Nintendo DS, first you need either a slot 1 or slot 2 accessory, which can go on top of your DS socket, or the bottom one, respectively. Some examples might be:


- M3 Adapter
- M3 Simply
- G6 Flash

Step 2

Here you can see an SD mini card with a memory adapterOnce you purchase any of the above, you will also need an SD mini memory card. With this small memory stick, you can place a wide variety of video, audio, games, and applications. The amount of memory on these cards can range from 512 MB (for the casual user) to even 2 GB (for the enthusiast.) There are bigger memory cards out there, but some of the above adapters (from step one) may not recognize such a big amount of space.

Step 3
You may also need some kind of adapter to transfer your files to and from the mini SD card. All this is generally very easy to manage, and can easily be connected to a USB port on your computer.

Step 4
The last step is simply to find yourself available resources for homebrew applications, etc. While I will not provide direct links to commercial applications and games, I will, however, give you certain websites that support free programs for your downloading pleasure.
